I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when I was 18 years old and what it has done for me is priceless. I was out of high school and trying to figure out my path. After one jiujitsu class at a friend’s garage, I was hooked for life. I moved to Brazil not knowing where jiujitsu would lead me and never looked back. I had the opportunity to train with Carlos Gracie Jr. and Draculino Magalhães and was the first American to get my black belt from Gracie Barra. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has taught me so much over the years about life and myself in general. It has shown me that I can overcome obstacles and achieve anything I put my mind to. I have won numerous bjj competitions including The Worlds in 2002 as a Black Belt. I am a former King of the Cage Champion and UFC Veteran with fights all over the World. My personal accomplishments have been rewarding but what I am most proud of are the students whom I have helped to become more than they could have imagined.
